When you see the term “clinical-grade” on a supplement, what does it really mean?
For some companies, it’s just a marketing phrase. But at Desert Forest Nutritionals®, we treat it as a responsibility. Clinical-grade isn’t about hype. It’s about meeting rigorous standards in sourcing, preparation, and consistency—standards rooted in science, not slogans.
Let’s look at what clinical-grade means when it comes to our Agaricus blazei Murrill (ABM) mushroom extracts.
It Starts with the Right Mushroom
Not all ABM mushrooms are the same. In fact, many on the market today are hybridized strains grown outside of Brazil, often chosen for faster cultivation, not potency.
Our mushrooms are grown near the Atlantic Rainforest of Brazil, using traditional, sustainable methods that allow the full fruiting body to mature naturally. We’ve worked with the same small grower since 2002—a relationship built on trust, transparency, and shared values.
Why Fruiting Body Matters
The fruiting body—the part of the mushroom used in traditional medicine and clinical studies—contains the highest concentrations of beta-glucans, ergosterol, triterpenes, and antioxidants.
Clinical-grade products should be based on this part of the mushroom, not on the mycelium grown on grain. And yet, many supplements labeled as “mushroom” are mostly grain-based mycelium, which dilutes the beneficial compounds you’re counting on.
We never use mycelium or fillers. Just the whole, mature fruiting body.
Dual Extraction for Full-Spectrum Potency
We use a time-tested dual extraction method:
- Hot water extraction to draw out water-soluble beta-glucans and polysaccharides
- Alcohol extraction to concentrate triterpenes and other fat-soluble compounds
This two-step process ensures you get the full range of active compounds—not just a partial profile.
Beyond the Label: What Clinical-Grade Really Means
Clinical-grade should imply:
- Identity-verified raw material (no species substitutions)
- Consistent potency from batch to batch
- No adulteration or hidden fillers
- Preparation methods aligned with those used in published studies
At Desert Forest Nutritionals®, we uphold all of these. Our liquid and powder extracts are tested, traceable, and precisely prepared. This is not about chasing trends. It’s about honoring science and tradition.
When Quality Counts, Clinical-Grade Delivers
Whether you’re a healthcare practitioner or someone navigating a health journey, knowing what you’re putting in your body matters. Our clinical-grade ABM extract isn’t just a label. It’s our standard.
You deserve more than marketing. You deserve the mushroom extract that matches the studies, the tradition, and your intention for wellness.
